In 2010, we were approached to help a growing family to extend their family home in the older neighborhood of Lonavala. The new extension was meant to increase the living space and carve out a separate space for one of the brothers – and we planned to extend the house vertically rather than horizontally so as to preserve the small open space available on the plot. The new extension would be of around 1500 square feet and would house a new Living space with an open Kitchen, a master bedroom and a guest bedroom on the lower level – and a mezzanine area which would be the space for their young kids.
